Didn’t take long for a Sarah Palin random quote generator to appear [LINK]. It actually does a pretty good job. See if you can tell the difference:
"And as Ronald Reagan believed that being the beacon of light — they want freedom."
"Senator McCain also showed great appreciation for what America whether that is part of the solution or not — that’s more than a lot of other senators and representatives did for us."
"We’ve got to see trade as opportunity, not as competitive, scary thing, but one in five jobs being …

If you haven’t already seen it, checkout Pailin’s interview from last week with Katie Couric [LINK].
This image just about sums it up.
If she weren’t so full of herself I might almost feel bad for her. It’s not like Couric’s playing hardball and hitting her with tough questions. These are basic things which she should have no problem answering. I could parrot back the stock answers she’s giving. Shaping up to be an interesting October/Nov.

So the secrets of the Universe, the Higgs boson a.k.a. god particle, strangelets etc. will all have to wait.
Maybe they can get it turned on in time for the end of the world as predicted by the Mayan …

Nice job on the rap and science here which pretty much sums up the Large Hadron Collider

Great photos here of the soon to be turned on "Large Hadron Collider" in Switzerland/France [LINK].
This thing is amazing; 10 years to build, thousands of scientists involved around the world, 27km of "track". The basic idea is they release particles into the thing, then speed them up and guide them using magnets. One particle goes clockwise, the other anticlockwise. When they get up to incredible speeds which I don’t even understand they smack them into one another and see what spills out.
They’re looking for all sorts of things such …
