Blur, Spinal Tap and Bottom

24 December 2003 No Comment

Still listening to Parklife by Blur and the incomparable Alvin Lee at Woodstock.

I also picked up the entire series of “Bottom” with Rik Mayall and that other guy from The Young Ones.

For the un-cultured, Bottom was the sitcom version of Jackass before there was a Jackass. You heard right, this is a three DVD set with 18 30 minute episodes. Hilarious stuff but not for the faint hearted, case in point: Episode 3: Richie attempts to fake suicide by sticking his head in the oven and turning on the gas. Eddie pays little attention and proceeds to use Richie as a human fusebox when the TV explodes as a result of direct contact with Eddie’s left boot.

They don’t make ‘em like that anymore. Roll on Christmas.
