The other day I was shopping at Best Buy and I noticed a dude carrying a Wii console box. A quick 360 degree scan of the floor and I spotted a young man in blue placing clean white Wii boxes out on the floor. He was quickly surrounded by other shoppers who began picking up the boxes. I walked straight up to him and said "I’ll take one". It never even hit the shop floor.

The Wii has been out just as long as the Playstation 3 and is a significantly less powerful machine yet Best Buy was abuzz with little kids and their parents delighted at coming across such a coveted item. It was curious to see the huge stack of Playstation 3s glaring jealously over at the Wiis as they were  snatched up by excited patrons.

I also picked up a copy of Zelda before heading to the checkout. My naive notion was that this would make for some fun relaxation for my wife (a long-time Zelda fan) as she recovers from chemo treatments. As it turns out all the swinging and twisting is more likely to make her throw up.
